The invention discloses an information transmission method and apparatus. A specific embodiment of the method comprises the steps of sending to-be-transmitted first information to a shared memory; traversing memory groups in the shared memory to obtain a first memory unit adaptive to the size of the first information, wherein each memory group comprises at least memory unit, the memory units in the same memory group are same in size, and the memory units in different memory groups are different in size; and storing the first information in the first memory unit, thereby enabling a receiving node to read the first information in the first memory unit. By storing the first information needed to be transmitted in the memory unit adaptive to the first information in size, memory resources aresaved.
