The invention discloses a friction stir welding method capable of reducing abrasion of a high-melting-point material stir-welding head. The method comprises the steps that before welding is started, astir-welding needle is pulled back into a shaft shoulder, and the stir-welding head rotating at a high speed is pressed into a to-be-welded plate at a certain pressing-in speed; after a specified pressing depth is reached, the stir-welding head stays for a period of time, and after the to-be-welded material is fully softened, the stir-welding needle stretches out of the shaft shoulder at a certain stretching-out speed and a certain rotating speed and is inserted into the to-be-welded material, wherein the stretching-out length is the thickness of the to-be-welded plate minus 0.1-0.2 mm; afterthe stretching-out length of the stir-welding needle reaches a preset value, the whole stir-welding head moves forwards at the same rotating speed, and connection of the to-be-welded plate is completed; and after welding is completed, the whole stir-welding head is pulled out of the to-be-welded material. According to the welding method, compared with a traditional friction stir welding method, firstly, the shaft shoulder is adopted to preheat the to-be-welded high-melting-point material, then the stir-welding needle stretches out after the to-be-welded material is softened under a high temperature, abrasion of the stir-welding needle at an inserting stage is effectively avoided, and the service life of the stir-welding head is prolonged.
