The invention provides a preparation method of a low defect graphene ribbon sponge composite material and belongs to the field of material science. The graphene ribbon sponge has a uniform through-hole network structure, can be used for preparation of a composite material in which reinforcement bodies are uniformly dispersed and solves the problem of reinforcement body dispersion in the nano-reinforced composite material. The preparation method comprises 1. preparation of carbon nanotube sponge, 2. preparation of a strong oxidizing solution, 3. preparation of graphene ribbon sponge, 4. washingof the graphene ribbon sponge, 5. drying of the graphene ribbon sponge, 6. reduction of the graphene ribbon sponge, and 7. preparation of a graphene ribbon sponge composite material. The preparationmethod prepares the low defect graphene ribbon sponge composite material with special edge effects, high Young modulus and high tensile strength.
