The invention discloses a rudder turning control method of a rudder propeller and belongs to the technical field of rudder angle control. The rudder turning control method includes the steps that a current rudder angle value f of the rudder propeller is obtained; a target rudder angle value C of the rudder propeller is obtained; a real-time rotation speed value N of a diesel engine is obtained; and a rudder turning angle E and a delivery capacity parameter M of a variable pump are determined, and the rudder propeller is controlled to be turned. The rotation speed of the diesel engine is introduced to the delivery capacity parameter M of the variable pump so that the delivery capacity of the variable pump can be changed according to the rotation speed of the diesel engine, and the responsespeed of the rudder propeller at the low rotation speed and the ship operation flexibility are improved. When the rudder propeller needs to be turned at a relatively large angle, the delivery capacityparameter M of the variable pump is relatively large, and the delivery capacity of the variable pump is large as well; when the rudder propeller needs to be turned at a relatively small angle, the delivery capacity parameter M of the variable pump is relatively small, and the delivery capacity of the variable pump is small as well; and it is guaranteed that the actual rudder turning angle cannotexceed the target rudder angle value, and control accuracy is improved.
