The invention discloses a detection kit for a vascular endothelial growth factor. The detection kit comprises a reagent R1 and a reagent R2. The reagent R1 is composed of a Tris buffer, NaN3, trehalose, Triton and PEG-2000, with a solvent being purified water; and the reagent R2 is composed of a Tris buffer, NaCl, NaN3, BSA, glycerin and a latex-coated polyclonal antibody against the vascular endothelial growth factor, with a solvent being purified water. The latex-coated polyclonal antibody against the vascular endothelial growth factor comprises the following raw materials: latex microspheres, a polyclonal antibody against the vascular endothelial growth factor and a polyethylene-(p-chloromethylstyrene) copolymer. The invention also discloses an application method for the detection kit.The invention has the advantages that (1) the prepared kit has high detection sensitivity, is simple and rapid to operate and needs 10 min for detection; (2) an antigen-antibody complex formed in theinvention has good stability and good specificity; and (3) the kit is used for an automatic biochemical analyzer and applicable to large-scale promotion and development.
