The invention discloses a switching device and a distributed power flow control transmission line matched with a fault current limiter. The switching device transfers current delivered by N split conductors onto (N+1) split conductors or transfers current delivered by the (N+1) split conductors to the N split conductors, wherein N is larger than or equal to 2. Since the switching device can transfer the current delivered by the N split conductors onto the (N+1) split conductors or transfer the current delivered by the (N+1) split conductors to the N split conductors, the adjustment range of the impedance of the line can be expanded, and thereby, the direction of the power flow of the line can be changed, and power flow control can be realized; and the structure of the switching device is simple. The distributed power flow control transmission line has a power flow control function and can operate in cooperation with the fault current limiter so as to better address the problem of the standard exceeding of fault current.
