The high solid content hyperbranched silicon-modified unsaturated polyester resin has a dendritic branched molecular structure, a terminal contains multi-active groups and is not easily crystallized, the solid content is larger than or equal to 90%, and the high solid content hyperbranched silicon-modified unsaturated polyester resin has low viscosity and excellent solubility. The invention further provides a method for preparing the high solid content hyperbranched silicon-modified unsaturated polyester resin. The prepared high solid content hyperbranched silicon-modified unsaturated polyester resin is high in crosslinking density after being mixed with a redox initiation system, a coating film has high hardness, high abrasion resistance and hydrophobicity, the performance is better than that of a traditional unsaturated polyester resin, and the high solid content hyperbranched silicon-modified unsaturated polyester resin can be used in the field of polyester paint applications.
