The invention relates to a bolt holding device with a bolt draw-in device for fastening a bolt, to a system with two such bolt holding devices, and also to a furniture item with two furniture item parts and a connecting system. The bolt holding device has a retaining device which blocks the bolt draw-in device when the bolt is not placed. In addition, it has a release element which can be actuatedby means of the bolt to be fastened and which is connected to the retaining device with a force fit and/or form fit. The bolt draw-in device can be unblocked upon actuation of the release element. The present invention develops a bolt holding device, which can be mounted quickly and without problem, for the largely tool-free final mounting of a bolt, and also a connecting system with two such bolt holding devices.
