Provided is a seaming device that can stabilize the position of a can during transfer when the can is supplied from a transport conveyer, that can prevent a can guide or the pocket of a seaming turretfrom causing dents, that can prevent buckling caused by such dents during seaming, and that can improve seaming accuracy. A seaming device (100) that is provided with: a can-bearing unit (110) that bears a can (C); a seaming chuck unit (120) that is provided opposite; and a seaming roll (131) that seams a lid (F) and an open section of the can (C). The can-bearing unit (110) has a pressing mechanism (111) that elastically and upwardly presses a plate (112) that bears the can. The seaming chuck unit (130) and the seaming roll (131) are configured so as to be able to move up and down.
