The inventiondiscloses a cloth edge moving positioning device. After a cloth is conveyed to the designated position on a platen, a cloth pushing device drives the cloth to move towards a limiting assembly so that the cloth can enter a gap below a material limiting plate, the cloth pushing device stops motion till a sensor below the material limiting plate detects a cloth conveying signal, it indicates that the edge of the cloth has abutted against a baffle plate, the edge of the cloth is aligned, then, a pressing plate is moved downwards, the portion, namely the cloth edge where a slotted holeis located, of the cloth is pressed through the slotted hole in the limiting plate, then, a blowing device starts to blow air, the cloth outside a limiting assembly is blown to be flat to achieve thepurpose of removing cloth wrinkles, finally, the pressing plate of the pressing assembly is moved upwards, and then the cloth is pressed through the cloth pushing device, and the cloth is moved to asewing unit. Accordingly, the cloth edge moving positioning device can limit and guide the cloth, cloth wrinkles are removed, and the device is applicable to cloths of various sizes. The invention further discloses a sewing machine comprising the cloth edge moving positioning device.
