A kind of high carbon aldehyde load type water soluble catalyst is made by high carbon number terminal olefine hydrogen formylating of sulfonated triphenyl phosphine-rhodium compound promoted by alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chloride, the product contains water soluble sulfonated triphenyl phosphine-rbodium compound and alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chloride, the content of metal chloride in the catalyst is 5-1000 times (mole ratio) that of rhodium; when high carbon number terminal olefine continues to hydrogen formylate on a fixed bed flow reactor, the reaction condition is moderate, owing to the addition of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chloride, the time space production rate can be raised by a factor of 2, and the selectivity of normal olefine product is also raised, the performance of the catalyst is stable.
