The invention provides a method for building a model that a cloud layer shades a ground photovoltaic power station, and the method comprises the steps: calculating a solar azimuth, and determining theincident relation between sunlight and a photovoltaic array; calculating the position relation among the photovoltaic power station, a cloud cluster and the spatial position of the sun; and buildingthe model that the cloud layer shades the ground photovoltaic power station. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the method achieves the building of a spatial polar coordinate model ofthe position of the photovoltaic power station, the position of the cloud cluster and the spatial position of the sun, achieves the accurate description of the spatial relation between the projectionof the cloud layer and the photovoltaic power station, and lays a foundation for the prediction of photovoltaic minute-level power.
