The invention discloses a novel intelligent electric energy meter based on super capacitor power supply. The novel intelligent electric energy meter comprises a switching power supply unit, an energy storage unit, a communication module, an electric meter basic unit. The switching power supply unit is connected to the electric meter basic unit and provides power supply for the electric meter basic unit. The switching power supply unit is also connected to the energy storage unit and provides power supply for the energy storage unit. The electric meter basic unit is also connected to the communication module, and the interactive communication of the intelligent electric energy meter is realized. The energy storage unit is connected to the communication unit and can be used for supply power to the communication unit. The novel intelligent electric energy meter has the advantages that the intelligent electric energy meter still can carry out fault active repair after external power cut.
