The invention relates to a protective adhesive film made of a polymer film which is coated with a crosslinked adhesive composition. The adhesive composition contains an adhesive polymer which is made by means of an emulsion polymerization in the presence of starches made of soft monomers, which when polymerized as homopolymers have a glass-transition temperature of less than 0 DEG C, ethylenically unsaturated acids or acid anhydrides, and optionally additional monomers that differ from (i) and (ii). The adhesive composition contains specific crosslinking agents, wherein the crosslinking reaction caused by the crosslinking agents ends before the protective adhesive film is adhered onto a substrate.
