Provided is a RTMP live stream seamless switching system. The system comprises a stream matrix management unit, a live stream-plugging scheduler, a stream matrix server unit, a RTMP live stream stream-plugging terminal, and a client; the stream matrix management unit is used for managing a live stream matrix live-broadcasting unit and controlling operation of the stream matrix server unit; the live stream-plugging scheduler is used for determining an address of a target stream matrix server in the live steam matrix server unit; the stream matrix server unit comprises a plurality of stream matrix servers and used for performing operations of stream switching and insertion of VOD stream into live stream; the RTMP live stream stream-plugging terminal is used for plugging stream to the stream matrix server; and the client is used for sending a command of stream switching and insertion of a VOD file into the live stream to the stream matrix server and playing the RTMP live stream. According to the system and method, real-time and rapid seamless switching and insertion of the VOD file into the live stream for the RTMP live stream can be realized.
