The invention provides an adhesive for pigment-based inkjet printing ink, ink containing the adhesive, a preparation method and application. The adhesive comprises water-soluble acrylic resin and a cross-linking agent, wherein the weight ratio of the water-soluble acrylic resin to the cross-linking agent is (3-10):1. The pigment-based inkjet printing ink comprises the following components by weight percent: 20-30% of pigment slurry, 12-25% of an adhesive, 20-40% of a humectant, 0.1-1% of a thickener and the balance of water; the pigment-based inkjet printing ink is prepared by firstly dissolving the thickener into the humectant and then mixing with other components. The adhesive is a water-soluble adhesive and is not reunited; and the prepared ink is good in storage stability and smooth in ink jet, and does not block a spray head; and the printed pattern has relatively high adhesive force, dry-wet rubbing fastness and washing fastness.
