The invention relates to a maintenance method of an electric power automation device. The method comprises steps of dividing health conditions of the electric power automation device into different health grades and determining health indexes corresponding to the health grades; and according to all kinds of parameters of the electric power automation device and by use of qualitative and/or quantitative method, obtaining the health grade and/or the health index corresponding to the electric power automation device; and obtaining health conditions of the electric power automation device. According to the invention, health conditions of the electric power automation device can be reliably estimated according to all kinds of parameters thereof; quantitative evaluation can be achieved; monitoring of operation states of the electric power automation device is facilitated; and a problem of device estimation is solved.
