The invention discloses a method for controlling the proliferation speed of sweet potato embryogenic callus. The method disclosed by the invention comprises selection of a plant material, induction of embryonic callus, establishment of an embryogenic cell suspension culture system and speed control of embryogenic cell suspension culture. Experiments prove that the method disclosed by the invention has a simple process flow; the proliferation speed of the embryogenic callus can be controlled; a technical problem that the proliferation speed of the embryogenic callus does not conform to actual need is overcome; a great quantity of embryogenic callus materials can be provided for the mutation breeding and transgenosis of sweet potatoes at anytime.
