The invention provides an adaptive reuse device and method for communication interface hardware. The device comprises an input interface module, a detection judgment module, an input switching module, a signal conversion module and a serial input module, wherein the input interface module is used for receiving one of communication signals of various externally-input signal types; the detection judgment module is used for detecting the amplitude of the communication signal, determining a first signal type corresponding to a current communication signal according to the detected amplitude and generating a switching control signal corresponding to the first signal type; the input switching module is used for inputting the communication signal into one path corresponding to the first signal type in multiple paths of signal conversion units; the signal conversion module is used for carrying out signal conversion on a received communication signal and outputting the communication signal; and the serial input module is used for outputting the signal output from any one path of signal conversion unit. By use of the device, the problems of poor portability, complex structure and low reliability since an existing communication interface adaptive reuse device needs software participation are solved.
