The invention provides an environmentally friendly tannin adhesive for scrimber and a preparation method thereof. The adhesive is prepared from 3 to 10 parts by weight of modified micro-nano-cellulose, 100 parts by weight of water, 40 to 55 parts by weight of tannin, 1 to 10 parts by weight of organic-modified nanometer montmorillonite, 1.5 to 5 parts by weight of a filler and 10 to 20 parts by weight of a stress-type crosslinking agent. The filler comprises at least one of flour, starch, diatomite, kaolin, bentonite and talc powder. The adhesive is environmentally friendly, has low toxicity, has free formaldehyde content less than or equal to 0.1 g/kg and the total volatile organic matter content less than or equal to 300 g/L and has excellent toughening effects.
