The invention provides a speed measurement device for a braking shuttle car. The device comprises an equipment support, wherein a motor is mounted on the upper side of the equipment support; a speed adjustment device is mounted at the output end of the motor; a precise speed adjustment valve is mounted on one side of the speed adjustment device; a manual reversing valve is mounted on the speed adjustment device on one side of the precise speed adjustment valve; a plunger pump is connected on the speed adjustment device, and the lower end of the plunger pump is connected onto an oil tank; a flowmeter is mounted between the plunger pump and the speed adjustment device; a hydraulic output port is mounted in the plunger pump; a hydraulic rubber pipe is mounted on the hydraulic output port; the plunger pump is connected on a hydraulic motor through the hydraulic rubber pipe; a spline sleeve is mounted on the hydraulic motor; the hydraulic motor is connected with a speed acquisition wheel through the spline sleeve. The speed acquisition wheel can rotate even if the braking shuttle car does not walk on a rail, when the rotation speed of the wheel reaches a braking speed, the braking shuttle car is braked, the hydraulic motor can still drive the wheel to rotate at the speed, and detection is performed conveniently and accurately after the speed is stabilized.
