The present invention relates to an independent recording system for series compensation equipment and a recording method of the independent recording system. The system comprises a platform measurement box, a control and protection device and a recording device; the platform measurement box is used for carrying out AD conversion on acquired transformer data and transmitting the transformer data to the control and protection device and the recording device through ST optical fiber interfaces; the control and protection device is used for sending three-phase synchronization signals to the platform measurement box and transmitting GOOSE switching quantity signals to the recording device; and the recording device is used for recording the GOOSE switching quantity signals sent by the control and protection device and SV signals sent by the platform measurement box. With the independent recording system and recording method provided by the technical schemes of the invention adopted, the reliability and objectivity of the recording mode of a series capacitor compensation device can be comprehensively improved, and an important basis is provided for the analysis of system faults. The independent recording system and the recording method have high security, high stability and high reliability; the influence of the independent recording mode on the existing data acquisition system of the series capacitor compensation device is minimum, and requirements of the independent recording mode for the modification of the existing data acquisition system is the lowest, and therefore, the uncertain factors of links can be decreased to the greatest extent.
