The invention relates to a valve device for a fuel cell arrangement in a motor vehicle, having a flow duct (2) running in a housing (1) and a flap (3) arranged in the flow duct (2) for closing the flow duct (2), wherein the flap (3) is fastened on an axle (4), the axle (4) is mounted rotatably in the housing (1), a valve seat is arranged in the flow duct (2) and is in contact with the flap (3) when the latter is in the closed position, and the axle (4) runs through the flap (3) at an angle, and for this purpose the flap (3) has a borehole (8), the openings (13, 14) of which each lead to a flap side. A seal (2) is arranged in the borehole (8) for the axle (4) between the flap (3) and the axle (4).
