The invention relates to a method for regulating an actual pressure (14) of a hydraulic clutch (1) of a motor vehicle (2), comprising at least the following steps to be carried out consecutively: a) providing a value (12) for a desired pressure (13) to be present in the clutch cylinder (7); b) filling the clutch cylinder (7) with the hydraulic fluid (9) to achieve the desired pressure (13); c) wherein, if the desired pressure (13) lies between 0 and 7 bar, the actual pressure (14) in the clutch cylinder (7) is adjusted by regulating a rotational speed (15) of the pump (6) or of the electric motor (25), and if the desired pressure (13) is greater than 7 bar, the actual pressure (14) in the clutch cylinder (7) is adjusted by regulating a motor current (16) of the electric motor (25); d) regulating the actual pressure (14) until the desired pressure (13) is achieved.
