The invention relates to a method for providing measurements that represent the concentration of a chemical species in the air located outside first vehicles (V11-V13) which are not provided with an analysis sensor. The method includes a first step in which a second vehicle (V2) wirelessly transmits a measurement taken by an on-board analysis sensor (CA), representing the concentration of said chemical species, and a second step of comparing said transmitted measurement with current and maximum values representing current and maximum concentrations of the chemical species determined in an area through which the second vehicle (V2) passes and which is analyzed by an analysis station (SA), and, when said measurement is between the current and maximum values, indicating to the second vehicle (V2) that its measurement is valid and thus that it is authorized to transmit same to the first vehicles (V11-V13) located in the area through which the second vehicle passes.
