The invention discloses an engine stopping control method of a hybrid vehicle. After an engine control module receives a stopping instruction, the engine rotation speed and throttle valve rear boost pressure are calibrated to be used as decision values, when any one of the actual engine rotation speed or the actual throttle valve rear boost pressure exceeds the corresponding decision values, rotation speed idling is triggered to conduct, and then the engine is stopped; and if the actual engine rotation speed or the actual throttle valve rear boost pressure do not exceed the corresponding decision values, the engine is directly stopped. Through the control method, a series failures such as high temperature of cooling liquid due to direct stopping of a vehicle engine from high speed and high loads can be effectively avoided, thus, the service life of the vehicle engine can be effectively prolonged, and the reliability of the vehicle engine can be effectively improved.
