Provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst that suppresses increases in pressure loss and that has excellent exhaust gas purification performance. An exhaust gas purification catalyst (10) that is provided with: a wall flow structure substrate that has an entry-side cell (24), an exit-side cell (25), and a partition (26) that divides said cells; a first catalyst layer (261) that is formed inside the partition (26) in a region that contacts the entry-side cell (24), and that is formed in the extension direction of the partition (26) from an exhaust-gas-inflow-side end part (24a); and a second catalyst layer (262) that is formed on the surface of the partition (26) on a side that contacts the exit-side cell (25), and that is formed in the extension direction of the partition (26) from an exhaust-gas-outflow-side end part (25a) so as to be shorter than the total length (LW) of the partition (26).
