The invention discloses an intelligent alarm method for a grid fault, which comprises the steps of acquiring switch shift information of each piece of alarm information from a data acquisition and monitoring system, and acquiring protection action information of each piece of alarm information from a relay protection and fault information system; determining a protection action type corresponding to the alarm information according to the acquired switch shift information; determining a fault or a fault set according to a protection path corresponding to the determined protection action type; and displaying the determined fault or fault set. In addition, the invention further discloses an intelligent alarm system for a grid fault. Adoption of the intelligent alarm system and method is conducive to finding out failure equipment of a grid and facilitates the operation.
