Provided is an anti-rollover manipulator for an ultrasonic degreasing line. The manipulator is erected between two parallel traveling tracks. The manipulator comprises a gantry crane frame, a hanging rod mounted in the gantry crane frame and used for hanging a hanging basket, a hoisting mechanism for driving the hanging rod to move up and down in the gantry crane frame and a transverse moving mechanism mounted on the gantry crane frame. The left side and the right side of the gantry crane frame are fixed to crane beams parallel to the crane tracks. The gantry crane frame is arranged across the two traveling tracks. The crane beams are arranged on the crane tracks. The transverse moving mechanism mounted on the gantry crane frame drives the crane beams to move along the crane tracks so as to change the horizontal position of the gantry crane frame. A transverse moving assembly playing a guide function on the movement of the crane beam is mounted on each crane beam. Distance measuring sensors are mounted on the transverse moving assemblies and arranged over the crane tracks. The distance measuring sensors are electrically connected with a PLC for controlling the manipulator to operate. The invention further provides an anti-rollover protection method for the manipulator for the ultrasonic degreasing line.
