The invention discloses an automatic oil return method. The automatic oil return method comprises the following steps: a liquid level of lubricating oil in an oil separator is obtained; when the liquid level keeps higher than an upper limit value for a first preset time, the lubricating oil is led into a compressor oil return side; and when the liquid level is lower than a lower limit value, lubricating oil in an outdoor unit is led into the oil separator. The invention further discloses an automatic oil return device. The invention further discloses an air conditioner including the automatic oil return device. The automatic oil return method prevents the phenomenon of oil shortage in a compressor caused by accumulation of a lot of lubricating oil in pipelines and a heat exchanger due to delayed oil return to a greater extent.
