The invention discloses a core rod surface composite preparation process for hot rolling of a seamless steel pipe. A high-toughness, high-wear-resistance and shock-resistance material overlays on the surface of a core rod with overproof size to recover actual size of the core rod to satisfy actual working condition demands; and a high-hardness and cold/hot-fatigue-resistance wear resistant layer is sprayed to the overlaid surface to replace a traditional chromium plating layer to finally obtain a high-toughness, shock-resistance, high-temperature-resistance and wear-resistance composite core rod. According to the process, not only can multiple times of repair be performed to reduce the production cost, but also the surface state of the core rod can be improved, and meanwhile, environmental pollution caused by an electroplating process is avoided to satisfy the environmental protection requirements.
