The invention provides a hybrid laser trigger gap. The gap comprises a short gas gap and a long air gap. The short gas gap and the long air gap are connected in series. An upper computer sends a motion command to a digital time-delay generator. The digital time-delay generator sends a trigger command to a laser. The laser generates a nanosecond laser. The nanosecond laser is reflected by a reflection mirror. The reflected nanosecond laser passes through a lens, then passes through an electrode of the short gas gap and is focused on a middle electrode so as to generate initial plasma. Under an electric field effect, the initial plasma induces the long air gap to generate self breakdown. In the invention, the short gas gap and the long air gap are connected in series so that a gap length of the laser trigger gap is reduced and laser trigger performance is increased; and the gap can be suitable for a gap with a high voltage grade and can work reliably under a low work coefficient.
