The invention relates to a leather shoe maintenance method. If leather shoes scum, gauze or cotton can be stained with a small amount of warm water, white scum on vamps is wiped out, and the leather shoes are aired in a ventilating place, smeared with a small amount of shoe polish and stored. The leather shoes are dabbed and cleaned with spongy cloth or fluff and maintained by special shoe polish to avoid reaction of the shoe polish and leather facing and accordingly avoid discoloration or damage to leather. The frosted leather shoe vamps cannot be smeared with the shoe polish or swabbed and need to be cleaned by special detergents, gently brushed by a brush clockwise or cleaned by special rubber shoe powder. The oil leather vamps are soaked in oil and can be cleaned by dry cloth or special articles during maintenance. A banana peel decontamination method is characterized in that banana peel is used for wiping greasy dirt on the leather shoe, and the leather facing can be clean and fresh as the banana peel contains tannin capable of removing the greasy dirt.
