The invention provides a preparation method of 1,2-cyclohexyldiamine. The method comprises the following steps: carrying out reaction on 1,2-cyclohexanediol in the presence of ammonia, hydrogen and a ruthenium-containing catalyst to generate 1,2-cyclohexyldiamine, wherein the reaction temperature is 100-145 DEG C, the reaction pressure in the reactor is regulated to 1-5 MPa by a hydrogen-containing gas, and the ruthenium-containing catalyst is arranged in the fixed-bed reactor; and purifying the reaction product to obtain the 1,2-cyclohexyldiamine. By considering the raw material cost, technical operation convenience, industrial continuous large-scale production and other factors, the invention develops a novel preparation method of 1,2-cyclohexyldiamine. The 1,2-cyclohexyldiamine prepared by the invention has the advantages of high purity, higher product yield and favorable technical economy.
