The invention discloses a communication system and method for a charging facility. The communication system comprises a port conversion module, a charging station data centralization controller and a communication module, wherein the port conversion module is connected with a communication port of at least one charging facility, and is used for converting operation data transmitted by the at least one charging facility from a signal of a first type into a signal of a second type, the signal of the first type has a signal format of an output port of the at least one charging facility, the signal of the second type has an input signal format of the charging station data centralization controller; the charging station data centralization controller is connected with at least one port conversion module through wireless communication, and is used for collecting the signal of the second type uploaded by the at least one port conversion module; and the communication module is connected with the charging station data centralization controller, and is used for reporting the signal of the second type collected by the charging station data centralization controller to a charging facility regulation and control server. The communication system and method disclosed by the invention solve the technical problem of raised charging facility cost due to the communication module added in each charging facility in a relevant technology.
