Provided is a carbonitrided bearing member that has high hardenability and high toughness and that has excellent abrasion resistance and excellent surface-origin peeling life. According to the present embodiment, the carbonitrided bearing member contains, by mass%, 0.15%-0.45% of C, 0.50% or less of Si, 0.40%-1.50% of Mn, 0.015% or less of P, 0.005% or less of S, 0.30%-2.0% of Cr, 0.10%-0.35% of Mo, 0.20%-0.40% of V, 0.005%-0.10% of Al, 0.030% or less of N, and 0.0015% or less of O, the remainder comprising Fe and impurities, and satisfies formula (1) and formula (2). The surface concentration of C is 0.7%-1.2%, the surface concentration of N is 0.15%-0.6%, and the Rockwell hardness (HRC) is 58-65.
