The invention discloses a method for rapidly determining the biochemical oxygen demand in the discharge water of a furniture factory. The method comprises the steps of dissolving anhydrous calcium chloride in water; dissolving iron chloride in water; dissolving glucose and glutamate in water after drying the glucose and the glutamate; adding a certain amount of water in a glass bottle, controlling the water temperature, aerating the water in an oil-free air compressor or a film pump, obtaining 100 mL of a neutralized water sample, adding 10 ml of 1+1 acetic acid and 1 mL of 10% potassium iodide solution in the water sample, adopting a starch solution as an indicator, titrating free iodine with the sodium sulfite standard solution, calcualting the amount of a sodium sulfite solution to be added into the water sample according to the consumed volume and the concentration of the sodium sulfite standard solution, adding a part of the dilution water according to the siphon method in two dissolved oxygen bottles known to be identical in volume, then adding the water sample with the added amount thereof to be calculated according to the bottle volume and the dilution ratio, and measuring the dissolved oxygen according to the sodium azide correction method during the BOD5 measurement process. The method has the advantages of simple measuring process, fewer steps, accurate measuring result and high efficiency, which can be adapted to the development requirements of enterprises.
