The preparation method comprises the steps of dissolving soluble nickel salt in deionized water to obtain a solution, dropwise adding acid to regulate the pH value of the solution to 0-3, adding a water-soluble sulfur-containing compound, stirring to completely dissolve to obtain a solution, adding the solution into a reaction kettle, carrying out hydrothermal reaction on the nickel salt and the sulfur-containing compound at a constant temperature of 180-220 DEG C for 1-3 hours, and carrying out water washing, alcohol washing and vacuum drying, so as to obtain high-purity nickel disulphide, wherein the molar ratio of sulfur to nickel is 4 to 10. By virtue of the preparation method, the problems of complex process and high cost of an existing nickel disulphide preparation method are solved.
