The invention relates to a king bolt for transmitting longitudinal and transverse forces between a bogie and a carriage body, wherein the king bolt tapers, along its longitudinal axis (8), from a wide end (2) to a narrow end (3), and wherein the king bolt comprises a main body (1) and ribs (4), which are arranged on the main body in order to support the carriage body. In order to manage without technically complex designs for decoupling purposes between the king bolt and carriage body, provision is made for the king bolt to be produced at least in part, in particular in full, from an aluminium alloy.
