The invention discloses an automatic machining system and method. The system comprises a material frame, a hot press shaping machine, a laser engraving machine, a laser detecting machine and a manipulator which is arranged in the center of the area defined by the material frame, the hot press shaping machine, the laser engraving machine and the laser detecting machine. The method includes the steps that a to-be-machined product is taken out of the material frame by the manipulator; the product is placed on the hot press shaping machine by the manipulator to be subjected to hot press shaping; the product is placed into the laser engraving machine by the manipulator to be subjected to laser engraving; the product is placed into the laser detecting machine by the manipulator to be detected; and the product subjected to planeness detection is taken out by the manipulator. By means of the automatic machining system and method, the product is circulated among the hot press shaping machine, the laser engraving machine and the laser detecting machine by the manipulator so that the product can be subjected to machining treatment of various manufacturing procedures, the manufacturing procedures are centralized for treatment, and therefore more manpower and man hours are saved; and meanwhile, because manual product circulation is not needed, the product damage and size varying risk is reduced.
