The invention discloses a dry-type air-core reactor low temperature performance detection method. A dry-type air-core reactor test object comprises at least one winding packet. The winding packet comprises a wound wire, an insulating material wound at the external part of the wire and a stress piece arranged between the wire and the insulating material. The detection method comprises the steps of building a connection loop used for performing low temperature performance detection on the dry-type air-core reactor test object, wherein the connection loop comprises a voltage regulator, a test transformer, a high-voltage switch, a compensation capacitor, the dry-type air-core reactor test object and a low-temperature test chamber, the voltage regulator is connected with the test transformer, the high-voltage switch is connected with the test transformer, the compensation capacitor and the dry-type air-core reactor test object so as to from a detection loop, and connection or disconnection of the detection loop is controlled through on or off of the high-voltage switch. According to the invention, a new dry-type air-core reactor is adopted to perform the low temperature performance test, so that a dry-type air-core reactor low temperature performance test can be performed under a condition which is similar to the field environment temperature and running condition.
