The present invention relates to a process for improving the added value of topped oil light hydrocarbons through conversion. According to the method, a C4/C5/C6 alkane-rich stream is subjected to catalytic dehydrogenation and oxidative dehydrogenation to produce butadiene and pentadiene, and the obtained hydrocarbon stream enters a low temperature aromatization reactor to produce the high aromatic hydrocarbon content, high quality, and high octane value gasoline blending components. According to the present invention, the diolefin production unit through oxidative dehydrogenation and the diolefin separation unit are additionally arranged between the two reaction units such as the catalytic dehydrogenation and the low temperature aromatization, such that a certain amount of the high value diolefin is by-produced during the high octane number gasoline production process so as to improve the economic benefits and the market competitiveness of the process and further provide another process for the refined use of the low-carbon alkanes.
