The invention provides a distribution line load rate calculation method, which reflects the distribution line load condition more accurately and provides an accurate and reliable data support for distribution line operation analysis, planning and automatic line-feeding action strategy work. The method comprises the steps of: inquiring the conductor type of each section of a line; determining the current limiting value Ipi of each section of the line, and selecting a minimum rated current carrying capacity among the conductor types of the sections as a current limiting value of the line; inquiring the maximum current value Imaxi of each section switch of the line within a certain period of time, calculating the load rate of each section of the line, and obtaining a line load rate R=min(Ri) by adopting Ri=Imaxi/Ipi; wherein R=min(Ri)*K% is used as a threshold, and K is 80-100. The method provides an important basis for automatic line-feeding action strategies, avoids overload of a looped network line when a non-fault area is recovered, even realizes over-current protection, and enlarges the power-off range.
