The silver behenate is applied to the imaging technology and is prepared through the following steps that behenic acid, water and alcohol are added into a reactor, the mixture is heated to be dissolved into a transparent state, sodium hydroxide is added, the mixture is completely dissolved into a transparent state, and a sodium behenate solution is obtained; silver nitrate is added into the sodium behenate solution, emulsification, washing and drying treatment are carried out, and silver behenate powder is obtained. No ketone solvent is used, the blasting risk of ketone steam in the preparation process is avoided, production stability and safety are obviously improved, meanwhile, anti-explosion treatment is not needed in a production workshop, cost is lowered, and the preparation method is suitable for industrial production.
