The invention discloses a method for preparing battery-grade lithium carbonate by taking potassium carbonate as a precipitating agent, and relates to the technical field of chemical engineering. The method comprises the following steps of alkali liquid preparing, impurity removing, ion exchanging, evaporating and concentrating, reacting and ageing, filtering and washing, drying and finished product obtaining. The method has the advantages that potassium carbonate serves as the precipitating agent to react with lithium chloride to prepare lithium carbonate, finally-obtained mother liquid is a potassium chloride solution with the high purity, the mother liquid can be directly used for producing potassium chloride or potassium carbonate, and no waste is generated; by adding seed crystals to cooperate with the reaction temperature, the serious wall sticking problem in the reaction process is solved; by combining the seed crystals, the reaction temperature, the stirring speed and ultrasonic treatment, the problems that the lithium carbonate crystals are aggregated and are wide in particle size distribution are solved.
