A human detection device according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes at least one light source that projects, onto a target, at least one dot formed by first light, the target including a person and an object other than the person; an image capturing system including photodetector cells generating and outputting an image signal denoting an image of the target on which the at least one dot is projected; and an arithmetic circuit that is connected to the image capturing system and that outputs information indicating whether the person is located at a position corresponding to each pixel included in the image denoted by the image signal.
