The invention relates to a method for extracting kaempferol and quercetin from hamamelis virginiana and belongs to the technical field of plant extraction. The method is characterized by taking powder of branches, leaves or flowers of hamamelis virginiana as the raw materials, heating and extracting via a citrate buffer solution, ethanol and methanol, purifying and separating via an amine solid phase extraction column, carrying out reduced-pressure distillation and concentration to extract natural kaempferol and quercetin. The prepared kaempferol and quercetin can be applied to detection and quantitation of kaempferol and quercetin in plant extracts and can also be applied to evaluation of quality of cosmetics containing hamamelis virginiana extract. The method is simple in operation condition, low in consumption of solvent and high in extraction efficiency.
