The present invention provides an evaluation method of an importance degree distribution characteristic index in an electric power communication network, wherein the importance degree distribution characteristic index is a comprehensive index characterizing the physical reliability and failure rate of the electric power communication network. The method includes the following steps that: the importance degree proportion of each node betweenness in the electric power communication network is determined; and a curve fitting method is adopted to fit a node importance degree proportion, so that the importance degree distribution characteristic index of the electric power communication network is determined. According to the evaluation method of the importance degree distribution characteristic index in the electric power communication network, the importance degree distribution characteristic index is the comprehensive index for evaluating the topological performance of the physical layer of the electric power communication network, and the index contains the information of network segmentation points, and therefore, the method has more extensive application environments, and index parameters of a single node, such as network key points or segmentation points, are not required to be put into statistics separately.
