The invention discloses a wellhead sound production method and device free of gas circulation. The device is composed of a magnetostrictive ultrasonic transducer (2) and a high-frequency microphone (1). The magnetostrictive ultrasonic transducer (2) is driven by 20 K-25 K alternating current to emit ultrasonic waves, one part of the emitted ultrasonic waves are received by the high-frequency microphone (1), the other part of the ultrasonic waves are received by the high-frequency microphone (1) after being reflected by the liquid surface at the well bottom, and time t from a wellhead to the liquid surface is obtained by dividing time difference of the signals received in two times by 2; ultrasonic propagation speed v can be calculated by means of hoop waves obtained through reflection between hoops and the length of an oil pipe, and the depth position of the liquid surface can be obtained by multiplying speed v by time t. The method and device solve the problem that wellhead devices in the existing market need gas circulation to make sound, and has the advantages of being simple in structure, safe, reliable and the like.
