The invention discloses a model test-based long stick-shaped porcelain insulator pollution resistance performance optimization method. The method comprises the following steps of: SS1, design and manufacture of long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models: designing the long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models, umbrella skirt parameters of which are different from existing models of long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models according to the models of the existing long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models, and processing and manufacturing the long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models by using a polyethylene PE material according to the umbrella skirt parameters of the long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models; SS2, an artificial pollution flashover test of the long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models: carrying out the artificial pollution flashover test on the processed and manufactured long stick-shaped porcelain insulator models so as to obtain pollution flashover voltage of each model; and SS3, optimized analysis. The method disclosed by the invention does not consider using RTV anti-pollution flashover coatings as the method of spraying the RTV coatings is relatively high in cost and is a remedial measure at a pollution flashover risk so that insulators also face the risk of aging; and the method has the effects of reducing the optimized design cost, and conveniently changing the umbrella skirt parameters by adopting the model test so as to obtain optimum configurations.
